During your first parent orientation you will learn about our comprehensive 52 week life changing "Home away from Home" program called LifeSkillsOne for youth between 5th and 12th grade. Your child is not alone; in fact more than 75% of young people experience > 4 out of 10 on the ACES scale; based on life trauma & other mental health issues.
Through the practice of active listening, loving, learning, and leading; our trained mentors will be intentional about better understanding your child's emotions, feelings and life challenges. Let us be one of your child's TRUSTED role models in your their life that they can feel comfortable telling anything to; including their most sensitive thoughts! We are committed to earning the right to be heard by both you and your child. TRUST us to be that friend, coach, teacher, advocate, and mentor that you and your child can count on and be committed to accepting you just the way you are?
We match our students with same gender; TRUSTED, CARING, COMMITTED, SCREENED & TRAINED MENTORS who can relate to your child in a way different from that of a parent! Were not going to cross boundaries or assume a parenting role however will will work closely to fill the gaps and sometime even overlap.
Since we are not licensed therapists or counselors; we do not give advise to our students or try to evaluate the root cause of the problem. We basically focusing on coaching and guiding towards future resolution and improvement not the past. If professional advice is necessary we will work parents to identify with one of our community partners and licensed professions to address your child's behavior and mental issues directly; ALL discussions with parents and students will remain 100% strictly confidential unless otherwise required by law.
In case a parent and child can't resolve a family matter and only after trying to address it between themselves; our life coaches offer skilled conflict resolution; to develop a plan with one of our community partners to resolve it!
